Persuasion

   

Definition: Persuasion is the process aimed at changing a person's (or a group's) attitude or behavior toward some event, idea, object, or other person(s), by using some form of communication to convey information, feelings, or reasoning, or a combination thereof.
P is a form of influencing another person or group via communication.
P can attempt to influence the other party's beliefs, attitudes, intentions, motivations, or behaviors.
P can be achieved by appealing to reason (using logic, argumenting, rhetoric, evidence, etc.) or to emotion (using advertising, presentation, imagination, propaganda, pity, seduction, tradition, etc.)
