Business Process

Definition: a Business Process is a collection of related, structured activities or tasks that produce a specific service or product or serve a particular goal.
3 types of BP-es exist:
- Primary Processes
- Secondary Processes
- Management Processes
The whole of all BP-es can be analyzed via Porter's Value Chain.
A BP can be decomposed into several sub-processes down to activity level. Sub-processes have their own attributes, but also contribute to achieving the goal of the super-process.
An individual BP can be modeled and visualized through several techniques, including a Flowchart.
