External Environment

   

Definition: the External Environment of an organization is the whole of economic, social, demographic, political, technological, legal, government and competitive environmental factors that are out of an organization's direct control (but can influence it!).
Also called macro environment.
Can be divided into two parts i.e. mega environment or general environment and specific environment or task environment.
Usually analyzed by a PEST Analysis.
